Genocides were not brought to an end. Â There have been other genocides after the Holocaust. Â An example would be the genocide that occurred in Rwanda in 1994. The genocide in Rwanda had arisen out of problems created by colonialism in that country. Â The Dutch colonial government had favored the Tutsi people over the Hutus. (The factor of leaders increasing tension between groups.) Â That created unequal distribution of power and resources. Â When the Dutch pulled out of the country, the postcolonial situation was one of great economic, political and social instability. Â All of this played into the violence by Hutus against Tutsis when the Hutus came into power in Rwanda. Â Â
Hitler was not executed. Â He killed himself on April 30, 1945, as the Soviet military was closing in on the chancellery in Berlin.
